The iPhone 4 Steve

If you read my initial reaction blog to the iPhone 4S, you would have interpreted that there was no way I was going to purchase it. Of course, at that time I had no plans to do so as I had fully determined I would wait for the iPhone Next. However, a few days had gone by and I indeed ordered my iPhone 4s yesterday.

Why oh why did I change my mind? I guess you can say Steve Jobs once again helped convinced me to purchase yet another Apple product I thought I could pass up. This time he did it in a different matter. Instead of doing it in a presentation, he did it in from the great beyond.

The human life is actually quite remarkable. When you package that with who Steve Jobs is, you truly have something out of the ordinary. I am sure we have all seen someone we know or love hang on during their last days to reach a certain a day or time. Sixteen years ago I watched my uncle battle cancer and fight the odds just so he would make it to one last Christmas. He did and passed away on Christmas in 1995. It seems a little too weary to me that Steve Jobs just happened to pass away the day after the new iPhone was announced.

We have all heard by now that Mr. Jobs has left plans for Apple for the next four years and beyond. It is amazing to me because it means this man as he battled this awful disease continued to pour his heart and soul into the company that he loved to help guide they way even after he was gone. So how do we not help but wonder if he held on for one last huge announcement for another project he helped lead the way for.

Only Steve Jobs with his passing could work the magic that he did. For a short period of time the new iPhone was receiving negative feedback all over the internet. In a day that changed. AT&T announced it was their greatest launch for an iPhone yet, the same iPhone that received more criticism then any other iPhone to date. Coincidence? I think not.

On Wednesday, we all sat their puzzled wondering where the iPhone 5 was. Now we know, there was no iPhone 5 because this was the iPhone 4s. Yes, the iPhone 4S, the iPhone 4 Steve.
