So last week I had a few tips to try and help improve battery life for the iPhone 4S. While many of those will help here are a few more, tips and a suggested App you can use to help better battery life.
Since iOS 4 I have been using an App by the name of Battery Doctor. It helps you stay in control of your battery and keeps track of full cycle chargers. Speaking of full cycle charges, I have read many places where people have had much success of letting their phones drain entirely before recharging them. So what I suggest is picking up this App, launch it and let your phone run down until it shuts off. Then plug it into the wall (Not your computer) and let it finish until the full cycle charge is totally complete. Battery Doctor will notify you when the full cycle charge is complete. Some people even suggest letting the battery drain multiple times and doing full cycle charges. For more information on Battery Doctor, you can check out the following link:
Remember I mentioned disabling Location Services in apps that you do not need to use them. Another read on the MacRumor forums suggested disabling the “Setting Time Zone” in the System Services menu. If you would like to try this as well, you can do so by:
- Click on Settings
- Click on Location Services
- Scroll to the bottom and click System Services
- Switch the On/Off Switch for Setting Time Zone to Off
Sure, Find my Friends sounds like a great app. But did you know if you use it, every time your friends try to locate you it is draining your battery? While we are not suggesting to not use this App, you may not want to have the “Location Services” turned off for this App until you are ready to use it. Once you are done having your friend stalk, um, I mean find you, you should disable the location service until the next time you are ready to use it.
