Being in our new house for nine months, I had decided I needed to upgrade our vacuum. There were two reasons for this. The first being our old vacuum, a Shark, had been getting very dirty since I use it to help clean out the pellet stove. I was thinking it was defeating the purpose of cleaning, if you were cleaning with a vacuum that was becoming less clean itself. Second, now that we are in the house and have brand new rugs, I thought they deserved a top notch vacuum.
Well, I started researching which type of vacuum I should purchase. I was googling reviews, asking friends (one of whom owns a carpet cleaning business , one who owned the carpet company that installed my carpet and lastly a friend who has severe allergy/sinus issues. I was doing anything I could possible to try make the right choice. It seemed no matter who I asked, they all were coming back with the same answer… Dyson!
So I started to focus only on Dyson Vacuums when I discovered this brand new technology, a technology that goes by the name of Cinetic. Now if you know me at all, you know I love my technology and new gadgets. Never in my wildest dreams did I envision my fetish for new technology would carry over to vacuums, but it did. Once I learned the technology included no bags or filters, I was hooked. I knew which vacuum I was getting. My decision, The Dyson Cinetic Big Ball Animal.
As it turned out, at the moment QVC were the only place it was available, as they have an exclusive until March in the United States. So I whipped out the old QVC Card and decided to do the six easy payments of $99. Sure, the vacuum seemed a bit pricey, but lets be honest, if you want a quality vacuum you are going to pay more. After a small hiccup with the ordering from QVC, they quickly got on it and got everything straightened out and I have received my new Vacuum.
The assembly was simple, within minutes I had it together and setup and ready to go. I had just vacuumed this past Sunday, but I couldn’t wait to take this big boy for a ride. The results, to say the least, were shocking. After only doing the dining room and hallway, as you can see by the picture, the canister was practically filled! There was more dust and debris in here then I thought would ever be after only vacuuming two days ago. I emptied it out, which by the way was a breeze, and continued to finish.
Now, we have a nice, soft carpet installed. And of course, any time after vacuuming, your rug always looks better. But today, it was different. The carpet was softer, it looked brand spanking new again. Something that blew me was away was not only could you see your footprints in the carpet, but in what I found very adorable was the fact that I could see my little 18 pound dogs paw prints in the soft carpet as well.
The reason I felt inspired to update my blog after all of this time was because I was hoping to help others who may be researching vacuums out there, like I was doing myself. I wanted them to find an honest review from someone who really knew nothing about vacuums before making this decision. I purchased this vacuum myself, I did not receive it for reviewing purposes. I would do so again in a heart beat. The only problem I do have is that QVC did not offer the Allergen version also known as The Dyson Cinetic Big Ball Animal + Allergy. Either way, if you decide to go with any of the Cinetics, I could not imagine you would be disappointed.
