Eden Riegel – Absolutely Eden Fan Luncheon!

by Thomas A. Montalto on September 13, 2011 at 2:30 pm

Eden Riegel / Thomas A. Montalto

During my last trip out west I was able to cover the “Absolutely Eden” fan event for Eden Riegel held at Maggiano’s at The Grove in Los Angeles. The setting was very intimate. It was like I was joining Eden, who was accompanied by her mother Lenore Riegel, at a family dinner where everyone sat around a big table and chatted. “It went very well, I think everyone had a really great time,” Riegel said after the event. “Phyllis and Mary Beth always organize amazing events. We had a lot of very fun conversations and the food was amazing.”

If you have been following Eden on twitter (@edenriegel), you know she recently became a mom for the first time. “It’s a huge adjustment. Life will never be the same again. It has been a lot of sleepless nights and stress. From the very second he was born, I was just so worried for him all the time, but he’s doing so great. The joy is much bigger than I imagined.” ↓ Read the rest of this entry…

Since I posted my blog the other day about the sign in error with the root user in Mac OS X Lion, I have been asked a few times on how to enable the root user.  So now I present to you just how to enable the root user. ↓ Read the rest of this entry…

Mac OS X Lion Root User Signin Error

While installing some software today on my Mac, I came across an issue I found rather frustrating.  Apparently they have changed some of what you can do and not do as an admin in Mac OS X Lion from prior versions of OS X.  After having to “Enable Root User” and doing what I had to, I went back and had to “Disable Root User.”  It was only after then I realized I had to go back and enable it again to fix one more thing, only here is where I ran into my problem.  After I had went back and hit “Enable Root User” I went to sign in as the root account, and it was then I realized it was no longer accepting my password as root to log in even tho I had no changed it. I even tried changing it in the “Directory Utilty” but had no luck with that either. ↓ Read the rest of this entry…

All My Children Fan Club Luncheon 2011 – Photo Gallery

by Thomas A. Montalto on September 1, 2011 at 11:28 pm

Thomas A. Montalto / MontaltoPhotos.com

If you are anything like me, you could not help but feel a little down yesterday knowing that they were filming the last television broadcast episode of “All My Children”. I encourage you all not to look at it as an end, but instead look at it as a new beginning. They say when one door closes, another one opens. Luckily for us, we know that “All My Children” is not ending, just getting a new beginning. I know there are many worried out there about the future, but I plead with you not to doubt or hesitate with the changes that are about to happen, instead we should all embrace what Prospect Park is offering and help them make it as successful as they plan on making it. From what I hear, they are as serious as can be with making this work and for that we must applaud them as both “All My Children” and “One Life to Live” help lead the way into the next medium of entertainment. I can go on and on about this, but perhaps I will save it for another blog if you all want to hear my thoughts. ↓ Read the rest of this entry…

General Hospital Fan Club Luncheon 2011 – Photo Gallery!

Posted In: General Hospital, Photo Galleries

So I was a little slow at getting you the gallery from the 2011 General Hospital Fan Club Luncheon and I do apologize for that. But as they say, it is better late then never. Here are twenty photos to help remind you of the great time everyone had at this years luncheon.

The General Hospital Fan Club Luncheon was held at the Sportsmens Lodge in Studio City, California from July 23! It is the granddaddy of all the events during the Fan Club Weekend as most of the cast turned out to support their show and thank their fans for all of their support! Fan favorites such as Steve Burton, Maurice Benard, Kelly Monaco, Rebecca Herbst, Kirsten Storms, Jonathan Jackson and Dominic Zamprogna to name just a few of the cast members who were in attendance. ↓ Read the rest of this entry…

Sarah Glendening & Christina Bennett Lind – Soap Opera Weekly Pullout!

by Thomas A. Montalto on August 19, 2011 at 11:19 am
Posted In: All My Children, Software/Apps

It has become a Friday morning routine for me, since I have started using Zinio the first thing I do when I wake up is check Soap Opera Digest and Soap Opera Weekly. Not only checking for the latest news, but also looking to see what photos I may have in this weeks issues. I decide to check out Soap Opera Weekly first today, not sure why or how I normally choose. But I was quite happy to see my first pullout poster, featuring Sarah Glendening and Christina Bennett Lind who portray Marissa and Bianca on “All My Children”.

I took this shot a couple of weeks ago during the “All My Children” Fan Club luncheon. Both ladies were gracious enough all weekend long, posing for various photos during all the different events. You would never know this particular shot was taken on a Saturday evening after we all had been drained from the luncheon that ran most of the afternoon. ↓ Read the rest of this entry…

Firefox Rapid Releases – Group Tabs & App Tabs

by Thomas A. Montalto on August 17, 2011 at 7:03 pm
Posted In: Software/Apps, Technology

So Mozilla is now pumping out new releases of FireFox every six weeks, an interesting concept. If you are anything like me, then anytime a new version of software you use is released you get a bit excited to try the new version and see what it has to offer. However, I am beginning to wonder if rapid releases will somehow alter the effect of the excitement of new versions being released.

The past two versions of Firefox have released two very interesting new concepts, called “App Tabs” and “Group Tabs”. While the idea for these two features seems like a good one, I have a major problem with how both are implemented. ↓ Read the rest of this entry…

My Verizon Nightmare!

by Thomas A. Montalto on August 16, 2011 at 6:45 pm
Posted In: Cell Phone, Random Ramblings, Technology

Wow, to think I use to love Verizon Wireless. They were without a doubt my favorite cellular provider, that is why it was so painful when I decided to walk away to get my iPhone and join AT&T a few years back. Since that time, I counted the days until Verizon would have the iPhone and I could switch back. I thought maybe once I was on AT&T, they would win me over, but the only thing that kept me there was my love for the iPhone. ↓ Read the rest of this entry…

This past Thursday Night at the Sportmen’s Lodge in Studio City was the kick off of back to back weekends of fan club madness for “General Hospital” and “All My Children.” First up was the “General Hospital” Fan Club Weekend and starting it all off was the Kick Off party. It was an intimate evening as the actors mingled with fans, signing autographs and posing for pictures. Featured guests included Steve Burton, Dominic Zamprogna, Laura Wright, Jonathan Jackson, Andrea Bogart, Chad Duell and many more.
